World-class swimming pool in Indore soon

Indore swimmers have a reason to smile. The city would soon get a world-class swimming pool. The pool will be coming up at Scheme No. 94, Goyal nagar, Pipliyahana.

"We have planned to come up with an international-level swimming pool to facilitate Indore youths to withstand the greatest of competition on earth," said the in-charge at law and administration department (IMC), Ajay Singh Naruka, adding the land for Rs 5 crore project has been already approved for the project.
"Along with pools, there will be a big stadium, and it is also suggested to have a multi-purpose sports arena with an impressive gymnasium and health centre", said Naruka adding that the IDA has allotted five acres of land to them and consultants for design has also been given to a private company.

"It's good if they have planned for an International standard swimming pool in Indore. Pools in the city are small for professional swimmers and makes it difficult for swimmers to dive", said a budding swimmer Atharv Agrawal. He has won many state-level competitions. "The pool will help me to learn new tricks with more facilities," he added.

Similarly another diver Gaurav Raghuvanshi feels the coming of new international swimming pool will be very beneficial as many swimmers and divers in the city lack in the basics of the sport. "The new pool will be advantageous for us, because in the normal pool we don't get enough space to dive as it is often overcrowded and many divers do not have sense of direct diving and get themselves hurt", said Gaurav, adding that the international standard based pool will provide them with matts, trampolines diving boards, and gymnastics which will aid them in improving their skills.

Sarla Sarvate, swimming coach said, "If we have state-of-the-art swimming pool then the budding talent is sure to get international standard level training."
