Indian Institute of Management, Indore (IIM-I) won laurels at the 7th National Young Economist Competition 2012 held in Bangalore.




Kapil Kanungo, student of 5-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) at Indian Institute of Management, Indore (IIM-I) won laurels at the 7th National Young Economist Competition 2012 held in Bangalore.


The event was organised by Christ University, Bangalore on 17th September.


Speaking to DNA Kapil said, "Presence of mind helped in winning the extempore written and verbal rounds and knowing current affairs proved useful".


Students from various universities across the country participated in the competition. The theme for the competition was 'The Economic Growth Crisis in Indian Economy'.


Research-based papers on following sub-themes: Inclusive Growth--A New Paradigm, Reforms and Economic Growth in India, Impossible Trinity--an Indian Experience, Capital Flows and Current Account--Trends in India and Managing Fiscal Deficit and Inflation was invited.


The topic given for the research paper was - 'Growth Crisis in Indian Economy '. Kapil's paper on 'Inclusive Growth in India' was adjudged the best among the 10 finalists. He wrote the paper under the guidance of Dr Siddhartha K Rastogi, Faculty IIM Indore.
